Brighton 0 – Liverpool 2: Visitors secure points with win at the Amex Stadium

Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, was hard fought at the Amex Stadium. Brighton were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Newcastle United while Liverpool were coming from consecutive wins against West Ham United and Leeds United. As it stands, Brighton and Liverpool sit 13th and 2nd places with 33 points and 66 points respectively.

The Reds started the game well, with Luis Diaz finding the net at the 19 minute mark, seeing out the first half 0-1.

Liverpool continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Mohamed Salah, 61 minutes in. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-0 to Liverpool.

Brighton brought on Adam Lallana, Pascal Gross and Danny Welbeck for Steven Alzate, Adam Lallana and Yves Bissouma. Liverpool brought on Thiago, Diogo Jota and James Milner, to replace Naby Keita, Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson.

There were bookings for Yves Bissouma, Alexis MacAllister and Neal Maupay from Brighton. For Liverpool, Fabinho saw yellow.

Brighton will play their next fixture away against Manchester City, while Liverpool will face Manchester United at home.
