Brighton & Hove Albion snatched all three points from Leeds United in a 1-0 victory on Saturday, at the Amex Stadium. Both Brighton and Leeds arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Brighton were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Leeds, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 3-0 victory against Chelsea. As the table looks today, Brighton and Leeds currently occupy 2nd and 5th spots in the table, with 10 points and 7 points respectively after 4 matches.

After a goalless first half, Brighton applied pressure in the second, when Pascal Gross gave The Seagulls the lead at the 65 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Brighton included Tariq Lamptey, Enock Mwepu, Kaoru Mitoma, Levi Colwill and Jan Paul Van Hecke for Joel Veltman, Solly March, Pervis Estupinan, Leandro Trossard and Danny Welbeck, repectively. Leeds brought on Mateusz Klich, Luis Sinisterra, Adam Forshaw and Joe Gelhardt, to replace Marc Roca, Daniel James, Jack Harrison and Brendan Aaronson.

There were bookings for Adam Webster and Alexis MacAllister from Brighton, and Pascal Struijk, Marc Roca and Brendan Aaronson, for Leeds.

Brighton will next travel to Fulham, while Leeds will face Everton at home.
