In the end though, their lead was short-lived, as Ruben Neves equalised for Wolves, 52 minutes in. The match ended wih a 1-1 draw.

Substitutions for Brentford included Mikkel Damsgaard, Keane Lewis-Potter, Mads Roerslev Rasmussen, Frank Onyeka and Sergi Canos for Mathias Jensen, Yoane Wissa, Kristoffer Ajer, Pelenda Da Silva and Bryan Mbeumo, respectively. Wolves brought on Joao Moutinho and Goncalo Guedes, to replace Matheus Nunes and Adama Traore.

The referee booked Bryan Mbeumo, Mikkel Damsgaard and Ivan Toney from Brentford. Wolves had the worst of it though, with Nelson Semedo, Daniel Podence and Ruben Neves seeing yellow, and Diego Costa then sent off with a red.
