Brentford 1-1 Everton: The Bees battle back for a point to deny The Toffees

On Saturday, Brentford and Everton were held to a 1-1 draw at Brentford Community Stadium. Brentford were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Fulham. Everton secured a point against Nottingham Forest in their previous match. As the table looks today, Brentford and Everton are 9th, (5 points) and 17th, (2 points), spots respectively, after 4 matches.

The Toffees dominated the first half, when Anthony Gordon gave Everton the lead at the 24 minute mark, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

Brentford took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Vitaly Janelt at the 84 minute mark. The final result, Brentford 1, Everton 1.

Substitutions for Brentford included Vitaly Janelt, Shandon Baptiste, Keane Lewis-Potter, Mikkel Damsgaard and Mads Bech Sorensen for Christian Norgaard, Zanka, Yoane Wissa, Bryan Mbeumo and Pelenda Da Silva, repectively. Everton brought on Michael Keane, Tom Davies, Salomon Rondon and Ruben Vinagre, to replace Mason Holgate, Amadou Mvom Onana, Dwight McNeil and Vitaliy Mykolenko.

There were bookings for Yoane Wissa and Aaron Hickey from Brentford. For Everton, Jordan Pickford and Anthony Gordon saw yellow.

Next up, Brentford are away to Crystal Palace, whilst Everton will travel to face Leeds United.
