Brentford 2 – Brighton 0: The Bees deliver decisive win at Brentford Community Stadium

Brentford beated Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 on Friday at Brentford Community Stadium. Both Brentford and Brighton arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Brentford were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 5-1 to Newcastle United in their previous fixture, while Brighton were beaten 1-0 in their previous match against Tottenham Hotspur. Brentford are now in 8th place, with 13 points from 11 matches, while Brighton sit in 7th, with 14 points from 11.

Brentford started the match strongly, with a goal from Ivan Toney, at 27 minutes, and they saw out the first half 1-0.

The Bees continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Ivan Toney found the net once more, at 64 minutes, seing the match finish 2-0.

Substitutions for Brentford included Shandon Baptiste, Mads Roerslev Rasmussen, Sergi Canos, Pelenda Da Silva and Saman Ghoddos for Frank Onyeka, Yoane Wissa, Bryan Mbeumo, Mathias Jensen and Rico Henry, respectively. Brighton replaced Pervis Estupinan, Pascal Gross and Leandro Trossard for Kaoru Mitoma, Adam Lallana and Deniz Undav.

There were bookings for Mathias Jensen, Shandon Baptiste and Ivan Toney from Brentford. For Brighton, Moisés Caicedo saw yellow.

Brentford next face Chelsea while Brighton are at home to Nottingham Forest.
