Bournemouth 2-0 Villa: The Cherries down Villa on Premier League return

Bournemouth made a fine start in the new Premier League campaign with victory against Aston Villa. Today’s result, Bournemouth are currently 2nd with 3 points from 1 match, while Villa sit in 17th, with 0 points from 1.

The Cherries started the first half well, with an early goal from Jefferson Lerma in the 2nd minute to see out the first half 1-0.

Bournemouth continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Kieffer Moore at the 80 minute mark, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Bournemouth included Lewis Cook, Ryan Christie and Junior Stanislas for Ben Pearson, Marcus Tavernier and Dominic Solanke, repectively. Villa replaced Emiliano Buendia, Ollie Watkins, Cameron Archer and Douglas Luiz with Jacob Ramsey, Danny Ings, Philippe Coutinho and Boubacar Kamara.

There were bookings for Adam Smith, Ben Pearson and Philip Billing from Bournemouth, and Danny Ings, Jacob Ramsey and Douglas Luiz, for Villa.
