Villa 1 – Liverpool 2: The Reds, ecstatic seal precious away win

Villa on Tuesday lost to Liverpool on a home defeat at Villa Park. Villa were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Burnley away (3-1), the other to Norwich City at home (2-0). Liverpool, on the other hand, had to settle for a draw 1-1 against Tottenham Hotspur. After today’s result, Villa are in 11th place on the table and has 43 points while Liverpool sit in 2nd with 86 points after 33 matches.
Villa started the game well, thanks to an early goal from Douglas Luiz in the 3rd minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Joel Matip equalised for Liverpool in the 6th minute, finalising the first half 1-1.
The Reds continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Sadio Mane in the 65th minute, which sealed the victory for the visitors.
Villa brought on Carney Chukwuemeka, Emiliano Buendia and Bertrand Traore for Marvelous Nakamba, Philippe Coutinho and Ollie Watkins. Liverpool brought on Jordan Henderson, Thiago and Mohamed Salah, to replace Fabinho, Curtis Jones and Luis Diaz.
Villa will play their next fixture at home against Crystal Palace, while Liverpool will face Southampton away.
