Arsenal 2-1 Aston Villa: The Gunners fight back to beat slumping Villains
Arsenal eased past Aston Villa in a 2-1 victory on Wednesday at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches in the competition. The most recent was against the Fulham at home (2-1), the other to Bournemouth away (3-0) while Villa were beaten 1-0 in their previous match against West Ham United. Arsenal started strongly in the first half, when Gabriel Jesus gave them the lead, 30 minutes in, finishing the first half 1-0.
Villa took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Douglas Luiz, at 74 minutes. The Gunners managed to edge ahead with a goal from Gabriel Martinelli in the 77th minute. The match ended 2-1 to Arsenal.
