Caps 2 – Houston 1: Orange Crush succumb to The Village at BC Place Stadium

Vancouver Whitecaps’ 2-1 win over Houston Dynamo on Saturday, was hard fought at BC Place Stadium. As the table looks today, Caps are in 10th place in the table and have 30 points while Houston sit in 12th with 25 points after 33 matches.

Houston started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Picault after only 6 minutes to take them into the break 1-0 up.

The Village continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Becher at the 88 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Cavallini made it 2-1 just before the final whistle to make it 2-1.

Substitutions for Caps included Cavallini, Baldisimo, Ahmed, Nerwinski and Becher for Vite, Owusu, Teibert, Blackmon and Brown, repectively. Houston brought on Carrasquilla, Dorsey, Bartlow and Zeca, to replace Sebastián Ferreira, Quintero, Úlfarsson and Valentin.

There were bookings for Cavallini and Gauld from Caps. For Houston, Herrera saw yellow.
