Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0 Austin: Caps make no mistake at BC Place

Vancouver Whitecaps strolled past Austin with a 2-0 win on Sunday at BC Place Stadium. Caps and Austin currently occupy 9th and 2nd spots in the league, with 43 points and 55 points respectively after 46 matches.

Caps started strongly in the first half, with a goal from Gauld after only 7 minutes and managed to see out the first half 1-0.

The Village once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when Cavallini found the net, 63 minutes in. When the final whistle blew, the result was 2-0 to Caps.

Substitutions for Caps included Cavallini, Berhalter, Raposo and Owusu for White, Cubas, Gauld and Teibert, respectively. Austin brought on Nick Lima, Finlay, Djitte, Felipe Martins and Redes, to replace Jiménez, Rigoni, Maxi Urruti, Ring and Pereira.

There were bookings for Cavallini and Blackmon from Caps, and Romaña, Ring, Felipe Martins and Cascante, for Austin.
