Toronto 2-2 LA Galaxy: BMO Field sees entertaining draw as The Reds denied

On Thursday, Phili and Galaxy played out a 2-2 draw at BMO Field. Phili and Galaxy are 10th, (34 points) and 7th, (38 points), in the table respectively, after 40 matches.

Galaxy scored first, when Costa found the net, at 24 minutes to take them into the break 1-0 up.

Phili took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Jesús Jiménez on the 62 minute mark. Phili looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Bernardeschi in the 81st minute to establish a 2-1. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Riqui Puig equalised for Galaxy just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-2.

Substitutions for Phili included Okello, Achara, Jesús Jiménez and O’Neill for Thompson, Nelson, Akinola and Macnaughton, respectively. Galaxy brought on Edwards, Alvarez, Cabral, Joveljic and Klještan, to replace Costa, Chase Gasper, Grandsir, Víctor Vázquez and Chicharito.

There were bookings for Macnaughton from Phili, and Grandsir and Araujo, for Galaxy.

Phili next face Montréal while Galaxy are at home to Sporting Kansas City.
