Kansas 1-0 San Jose: Wizards take all three points against misfiring Quakes

Sporting Kansas City snatched all three points from San Jose in a narrow 1-0 victory on Sunday, at Children’s Mercy Park. After today’s result, Kansas are in 12th place, with 29 points from 38 matches, while San Jose sit in 13th, with 27 points from 38.

Wizards started the first half well, with a goal from Salloi in the 10th minute, ending the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Kansas included Hernandez, Ndenbe, Shelton, Tzionis and Duke for Espinoza, Sweat, Salloi, Russell and Thommy, repectively. San Jose brought on Cowell, Niko Tsakiris, Salinas and Jack Skahan for Benjamin Kikanovic, Gregus, Marie and Thompson.

There were bookings for Sweat, Agada and Fontàs from Kansas, and Tanner Beason and Agren, for San Jose.
