Sporting Kansas City 1-2 New England Revolution: Revs find a late winner to knock over Kansas

Kansas on Sunday lost to New England Revolution on a home defeat at Children’s Mercy Park. After today’s result, Kansas are in 14th place, with 13 points from 20 matches, while Revs sit in 6th, with 19 points from 20.

Revs started the first half well, when Bou found the net, at 31 minutes. The score at half time was 1-0.

Kansas started the second half with renewed vigour, when Russell found the net, at 52 minutes. In the end though, Revs just before the final whistle took the victory via a Boateng goal, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Kansas included Shelton, Fontàs, Isimat-Mirin and Pierre for Walter, Voloder, Ford and Zusi, repectively. Revs brought on Jon Bell, Altidore, Traustason, Boateng and Maciel, to replace González, Kaptoum, Mcnamara, Borrero and Bou.

The referee booked seven players. Ford and Rosell from Kansas, who saw yellow cards and Rosell (2 yellow cards), sent off with a red, as well as for Revs Bou, Polster, Farrell and Dejuan Jones also seeing yellows.
