Kansas 3-0 D.C.: Wizards romp to big win against Black-and-Red

D.C. United on away loss to Kansas at Children’s Mercy Park on Wednesday. Kansas are now in 11th place, with 34 points from 44 matches, while D.C. sit in 14th, with 27 points from 44.

Wizards started strongly in the first half, when Shelton opened the rout on the 34 minute mark, and they saw out the first half 1-0.

Kansas once more applied the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Voloder found the net in the 70th minute. Kansas then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Salloi just before the full time to give a final score of 3-0.

Substitutions for Kansas included Hernandez, Thommy, Russell and Agada for Duke, Espinoza, Tzionis and Shelton, respectively. D.C. brought on Robertha, Smith, Chris Durkin, Hopkins and Miguel Berry, to replace Kamara, Odoi-Atsem, Djeffal, Pálsson and Rodríguez.

There were bookings for Espinoza from Kansas. For D.C., Morrison, Benteke and Smith saw yellow.

D.C. and Kansas will next play at home to Inter Miami and Minnesota United respectively.
