San Jose 2-0 Vancouver: The Quakes bank valuable three points

Vancouver Whitecaps on away loss to San Jose at Avaya Stadium on Monday. San Jose and Caps currently occupy 12th and 10th spots in the league, with 30 points and 34 points respectively after 41 matches.

San Jose found the net first, with an early goal from Ebobisse in the 4th minute. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Jamiro Monteiro, at 34 minutes to see out the first half 2-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for San Jose included Gregus, Benjamin Kikanovic and Marie for Cowell, Remedi and Thompson, respectively. Caps brought on Vite, Godinho, Berhalter, Ricketts and Owusu, to replace Dájome, Brown, Schöpf, White and Teibert.

There were bookings for Jamiro Monteiro and Benjamin Kikanovic from San Jose. For Caps, Cubas, Gauld and Blackmon saw yellow.
