San Jose 2-0 Minnesota: Quakes deliver decisive win at Avaya Stadium

San Jose banked all three points against the Minnesota United in a 2-0 victory on Sunday, at Avaya Stadium. San Jose and Minnesota currently occupy 13th and 7th spots in the league, with 34 points and 45 points respectively after 45 matches.

After an uneventful first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on San Jose who started the second half strongly, when Salinas gave them the lead on the 52 minute mark. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Benjamin Kikanovic after 72 minutes to make it 2-0.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. Substitutions for San Jose included Benjamin Kikanovic, Trauco, Gregus, Remedi and Cowell for Salinas, Thompson, Niko Tsakiris, Yueill and Ebobisse, respectively, Minnesota brought on González to replace Fragapane.

There were bookings for Yueill, Salinas, Rodrigues and Benjamin Kikanovic from San Jose, and Arriaga, Amarilla and Boxall, for Minnesota.
