Red Bulls 2-0 Toronto: Early strike sets Metro up for success against Toronto

Red Bulls beat Toronto FC with a thumping 2-0 victory on Sunday at Red Bull Arena. Following today’s result, Red Bulls are in 2nd place, with 26 points from 21 matches, while Toronto sit in 13th, with 15 points from 21.

Red Bulls started the first half well, with an early goal from Morgan in the 2nd minute, saw out the first half 1-0.

Metro continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Luquinhas at the 56 minute mark, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Red Bulls included Barlow, Harper, Pendant and Ryan for Fernandez, John Tolkin, Long and Morgan, repectively. Phili brought on Priso-Mbongue, Shaffelburg, Marshall-Ruty, Perruzza and Macnaughton, to replace Nelson, Akinola, Thompson, Jesús Jiménez and Salcedo.

There were bookings for Dylan Nealis and Harper from Red Bulls. For Phili, Akinola, O’Neill and Petrasso saw yellow.
