Real Salt Lake 3-0 Minnesota: Claret and Cobalt secure all 3 points

Real Salt Lake eased past Minnesota United in a 3-0 victory on Thursday at Rio Tinto Stadium. RSL are now in 6th place, with 42 points from 40 matches, while Minnesota sit in 3rd, with 44 points from 40.

It was an impressive opening from Claret and Cobalt, when Córdova opened the rout early in the first half. RSL then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Savarino, 23 minutes in. The score at half time remained 2-0.

RSL once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Julio in the 79th minute. The match ended 3-0 to RSL.

Substitutions for RSL included Oviedo, Méndez, Julio, Luna and Nick Besler for Chang, Meram, Córdova, Savarino and Caldwell, respectively. Minnesota brought on Fisher, Miller, Lod, Amarilla and Arriaga for Benítez, Clair, Danladi, García and Rosales.

There were bookings for Löffelsend and Glad from RSL. For Minnesota, Benítez saw yellow.
