Real Salt Lake 1-4 Los Angeles: The Black and Gold raid the Rio Tinto

Los Angeles FC on a 4-1 win against Real Salt Lake on Sunday at Rio Tinto Stadium. As the table looks today, RSL and Los Angeles currently occupy 5th and 1st spots in the table, with 34 points and 51 points respectively after 34 matches.

The Black and Gold didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Arango opened the rout, at 9 minutes. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Córdova managed to equalize and take the sides off in the 12th minute at 1-1. However, Los Angeles secured the points emphatically, with a goal from Kellyn Acosta at the 17 minute mark. The score at half time was 2-1.

The Black and Gold continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Arango found the net again in the 60th minute. Los Angeles then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Bale just before the final whistle to make it 4-1.

Substitutions for RSL included Méndez, Luna and Chang for Julio, Löffelsend and Meram, repectively. Los Angeles brought on Bale, Rodríguez, Mendez, Segura and Hollingshead, to replace Vela, Opoku, Cifuentes, Chiellini and Escobar.

The referee booked two players from Los Angeles, Kellyn Acosta and Chiellini.
