Portland 1-0 Minnesota: The Timbers battle past The Loons at Providence Park

Portland Timbers banked all three points against the Minnesota United in a 1-0 victory on Sunday, at Providence Park. Portland are now in 5th place on the table and have 45 points while Minnesota sit in 6th with 44 points after 43 matches.
After an uneventful first half, Portland piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Asprilla gave them the lead, at 61 minutes. The match ended with a 1-0 win for Portland.
Substitutions for Portland included Niezgoda, Paredes and Loria for Blanco, Williamson and Chará, respectively. Minnesota brought on Niko Hansen, to replace Kallman.
There were bookings for Bravo and Mcgraw from Portland, and Lawrence, for Minnesota.
