Portland 2 – Houston 1: Orange Crush unable to avoid defeat at Providence Park

Portland dominated the first half, when Santiago Moreno found the net, 34 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Santiago Moreno made it 2-0 at the 36 minute mark to see out the first half 2-0.

Houston took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Darwin Quintero, 65 minutes in. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-1 to Portland.

Substitutions for Portland included Dairon Asprilla, Felipe Mora, Larrys Mabiala, David Ayala and Zac McGraw for Sebastian Blanco, Jaroslaw Niezgoda, Yimmi Chara, Eryk Williamson and Santiago Moreno, repectively. Houston brought on Darwin Quintero and Fafa Picault, to replace Memo Rodriguez and Darwin Ceren.

The referee booked Sebastian Blanco, Dario Zuparic, Santiago Moreno, Bill Tuiloma and Eryk Williamson from Portland and Bill Tuiloma (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Houston’s Memo Rodriguez, Zeca, Teenage Hadebe and Matias Vera also received a yellow.
