Philadelphia 4-0 Toronto: Gazdag fires a hattrick for Union

On Sunday, Toronto FC suffered an away defeat to Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park. Union are now in 1st place, with 67 points from 47 matches, while Phili sit in 13th, with 34 points from 47.

Union started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Gazdag in the 4th minute. Union then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Uhre just before half-time, concluding the first half 2-0.

Union continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when Gazdag found the net once more, at 58 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Gazdag made it 4-0, 63 minutes in to give a final score of 4-0.

Substitutions for Union included Burke, Bedoya and Sullivan for Uhre, Jack Mcglynn and José Martinez, respectively. Phili brought on Akinola, Antonoglou, Mbongue, Henry and Nelson, to replace Okello, Petrasso, Jesús Jiménez, Macnaughton and Bernardeschi.

The referee booked Bradley, Mavinga and Bernardeschi for Phili.
