Philadelphia 5-1 Orlando: Union dominant as they tame The Lions

Philadelphia Union strolled past Orlando City with a 5-1 win on Sunday at Subaru Park. Union are currently 1st with 63 points from 42 matches, while Orlando sit in 6th, with 42 points from 42.

Union didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Mbaizo opened the rout, at 39 minutes. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Uhre just before half-time, ending the first half 2-0.

Union staged a comeback in the second half, when Gazdag found the net, 55 minutes in. Union looked to have the match under control when they scored again to grab the advantage, thanks to a goal from Bedoya after 63 minutes to establish a 4-0. However, Orlando refused to lie down and managed to pull back a goal from Perea on the 75 minute mark. In the end though, Union then grabbed a goal from Elliott just before the full time, which sealed the victory for Union.

Substitutions for Union included Jack Mcglynn, Burke, Sullivan and Aaronson for Bedoya, Uhre, Carranza and Gazdag, respectively. Orlando brought on Angulo, Torres, Júnior Urso, Smith and Araujo, to replace Gioacchini, Mulraney, Ruan, Pereyra and Cartagena.

There were bookings for Leon Flach from Union, and Schlegel, for Orlando.
