Union 2 – NYC 1: Home fans rewarded with victory at Subaru Park

New York fell to an away defeat at the hands of Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park on Monday. After today’s result, Union and NYC currently occupy 1st and 2nd spots in the table, with 29 points and 27 points respectively after 23 matches.
Union started the match well, when Uhre gave Union the lead, 9 minutes in, ending the first half 1-0.
The Pigeons took the initiative in the second half, when Castellanos found the net, 88 minutes in. Union in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Burke, leaving the final score at 2-1.
