Philadelphia 4-1 Chicago: Union produce emphatic win at Subaru Park

Philadelphia Union eased past Chicago Fire in a 4-1 victory on Sunday at Subaru Park. After today’s result, Union are in 1st place, with 48 points from 35 matches, while Chicago sit in 10th, with 30 points from 35.

Union started the first half well, when Gazdag opened the rout, 16 minutes in. Union then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Elliott in the 37th minute, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

Chicago started the second half with an intensified spirit, with an early goal from Mueller in the 49th minute. However, Union increased their advantage with a Carranza goal in the 53rd minute to make it 3-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Burke made it 4-1, at 82 minutes to make it 4-1.

Substitutions for Union included Burke, José Martinez, Aaronson and Sullivan for Uhre, Jack Mcglynn, Gazdag and Carranza, repectively. Chicago brought on Gutierrez, Herbers, Durán, Javier Casas and Andre Reynolds Ii, to replace Torres, Giménez, Przybyłko, Shaqiri and Sekulić.

There were bookings for Bedoya, Burke and Mbaizo from Union. For Chicago, Pineda, Shaqiri and Navarro saw yellow.
