Philadelphia Union 4-1 Atlanta: United with a day to forget at Subaru Park

Philadelphia Union see Atlanta United off 4-1 on Thursday at Subaru Park. Union are now in 1st place on the table and have 57 points while Atlanta sit in 11th with 33 points after 40 matches.

Union didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Carranza opened the rout, at 18 minutes. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Gutman, 25 minutes in, brought Atlanta level. However, Union then grabbed a goal from Uhre just before half-time, to take a 2-1 lead into half time.

Union continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Gazdag on the 67 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Harriel made it 4-1 just before the full time to make it 4-1.

Substitutions for Union included Burke, Harriel, Aaronson and Jack Mcglynn for Uhre, Mbaizo, Carranza and Bedoya, respectively. Atlanta brought on Josef Martinez, Moreno, Mosquera and Dwyer for Cisneros, Caleb Wiley, Franco Ibarra and Luiz Araujo.

There were bookings for Bedoya, Uhre, José Martinez and Jack Mcglynn from Union. For Atlanta,, Purata and Dwyer saw yellow.
