Orlando 2-1 Houston: City hold off the Lions to secure maximum points

Orlando City defeated Houston Dynamo 2-1 on Sunday at Exploria Stadium. After today’s result, Orlando are in 4th place, with 24 points from 21 matches, while Houston sit in 10th, with 18 points from 21.

Orlando started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to a goal from Kara, 25 minutes in, concluding the first half 1-0.

The Lions continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Kara found the net again at the 58 minute mark. In the end though, Houston in the 59th minute pull-back via a Sebastián Ferreira goal. The final result, Orlando 2, Houston 1.

Substitutions for Orlando included Michel, Perea, Pato, Mendez and Akindele for Mulraney, Júnior Urso, Kara, Pereyra and Torres, repectively. Houston replaced Quintero, Steres, Cerén, Pasher and Úlfarsson with Parker, Avila, Quintero, Vera and Bartlow.

There were bookings for Jansson, Pereyra and Gallese from Orlando. For Houston, Avila, Lundqvist, Vera, Zeca, Hadebe and Úlfarsson saw yellow.

Orlando will next play Cincinnati away, with Houston facing Chicago Fire at home.
