NYC 2-1 Orlando: The Pigeons get the home win against The Lions

New York’s 2-1 win over Orlando City on Sunday, was hard fought at Yankee Stadium. NYC are now in 3rd place, with 52 points from 46 matches, while Orlando sit in 6th, with 45 points from 46.

It was an impressive opening from Orlando, when Torres found the net just before half-time, concluding the first half 1-0.

NYC once more applied the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Callens on the 66 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Talles Magno made it 2-1 on the 80 minute mark to give a final score of 2-1.

Substitutions for NYC included Tinnerholm, Parks, Pellegrini, Heber and Andrade for Gray, Acevedo, Gabriel Pereira, Rodríguez and Talles Magno, respectively. Orlando brought on Michel, Akindele, Smith and Mulraney, to replace Kara, Angulo, Ruan and Araujo.

There were bookings for Moralez and Talles Magno from NYC. For Orlando, Araujo and Júnior Urso saw yellow.

NYC will next travel to Atlanta United, while Orlando will face Columbus Crew at home.
