Charlotte FC beat New York with a thumping 3-1 victory on Thursday at Yankee Stadium. At the moment, NYC are in 3rd place in the table and have 42 points while Charlotte sit in 10th with 32 points after 36 matches.

The Minted started the first half well, with an early goal from Swiderski in the 4th minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Chanot equalised for NYC in the 28th minute, which brought Ronny Deila’s squad level at 1-1 at the half time break

Charlotte continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Bronico, 77 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Fuchs made it 3-1 just before the final whistle with a final score of 3-1.

Substitutions for NYC included Haak, Gabriel Pereira and Gloster for Morales, Andrade and Amundsen, repectively. Charlotte replaced Kerwin Vargas, Mcneill, Swiderski and Gaines for Jóźwiak, Bender, Shinyashiki and Afful.

The referee booked two players from Charlotte, Swiderski and Mcneill.

NYC will next travel to Chicago Fire, while Charlotte will face Orlando City at home.
