New England Revolution 2-2 Cincinnati: Visitors fight back twice to earn a point

On Monday, Revs and Cin were held to a 2-2 draw at Gillette Stadium. After today’s result, both teams are on 25 points and occupy 5th and 6th places respectively after 25 matches.

Revs started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Borrero found the net in the 30th minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Henry Kessler equalised for Orange and Blue just before halftime, which brought Pat Noonan’s squad level at 1-1 at the half time break

Revs started the second half with an intensified spirit, with a goal from Bou at the 55 minute mark. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Brenner equalised for Cin at the 73 minute mark. The match ended wih a 2-2 draw.

Substitutions for Revs included Boateng, Jon Bell, Damian Rivera and Altidore for Borrero, Henry Kessler, Lletget and Maciel, repectively. Cin replaced Powell, John Nelson, Kubo, Vázquez and Murphy for Barreal, Ray Gaddis, Medunjanin, Markanich and Blackett.

There were bookings for Bou from Revs. For Cin, Powell and Acosta saw yellow.

Revs will next play New York away, with Cin facing Red Bulls at home.
