New England Revs 2-1 Atlanta: Home fans rewarded with victory at Gillette Stadium

Atlanta United fell to an away defeat at the hands of New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium on Saturday. Revs and Atlanta sit 9th, (41 points) and 10th, (40 points), spots respectively, after 46 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Revs, when Vrioni gave them the lead, 31 minutes in to see them go in at half time 1-0 up.

Atlanta took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Josef Martinez in the 81st minute. In the end though, Revs took the victory following a Bou goal just before the final whistle, seing the match finish 2-1.

Substitutions for Revs included Makoun, Kaptoum, Borrero, Rennicks and González for Spaulding, Polster, Nacho Gil, Vrioni and Bou, respectively. Atlanta replaced Josef Martinez, Rossetto, Mosquera, Moreno and Caleb Wiley with Cisneros, Amar Sejdic, Hernández, Sosa and Luiz Araujo.

There were bookings for Nacho Gil and Mcnamara from Revs. For Atlanta, Sosa and Gutman saw yellow.

Revs will next travel to Chicago Fire, while Atlanta will face New York at home.
