Nashville 4-1 Colorado: Bad day for visitors at Nissan Stadium

Nashville SC eased past Colorado Rapids in a 4-1 victory on Thursday at Nissan Stadium. Nashville are currently 5th with 42 points from 40 matches, while COLO sit in 11th, with 32 points from 40.

Nashville started strongly in the first half, when Mukhtar opened the rout, at 29 minutes. However, their lead was short-lived, as Zardes equalised for COLO, 35 minutes in, which brought COLO level at 1-1 at the half time break

Nashville started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Mukhtar found the net once more, at 54 minutes. The momentum was again with Nashville, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Shaffelburg, 61 minutes in to establish a 3-1 result. However they weren’t finished yet and Mukhtar made it 4-1, at 75 minutes to make it 4-1.

Substitutions for Nashville included Muyl, Mccarty, Haakenson, Zubak and Miller for Godoy, Shaffelburg, Sapong, Mukhtar and Moore, respectively. COLO brought on Nicholson, Darren Yapi, Max, Priso-Mbongue and Warner, to replace Jonathan Lewis, Zardes, Acosta, Gutierrez and Rubio.

There were bookings for Godoy, Leal and Mccarty from Nashville. For COLO, Abubakar and Acosta saw yellow.

Nashville will next play Austin at home, with COLO facing D.C. United away.
