Montreal 1-0 Toronto: Montreal edge rivals in tight match

Montréal’s 1-0 win over Toronto FC on Sunday, was hard fought at Stade Saputo. As it stands, MON are in 4th place, with 32 points from 28 matches, while Phili sit in 13th, with 19 points from 28.

After an uneventful first half, MON applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Macnaughton found the net, 69 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. Substitutions for MON included Mihailovic, Toye, Brault-Guillard and Corbo for Miljevic, Kamara, Johnston and Quioto, repectively, Phili brought on Achara and Shaffelburg, to replace Kerr and Petrasso.

The referee booked four players. Miller and Brault-Guillard from MON, who saw yellow cards and Miller (2 yellow cards), sent off with a red, as well as for Phili Bradley received yellows.
