Montreal 3-2 Chicago: Montreal survive at home against the Fire

On Wednesday, Chicago Fire suffered an away defeat to Montréal at Stade Saputo. MON are currently 2nd with 56 points from 43 matches, while Chicago sit in 11th, with 35 points from 43.

MON started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Kamara found the net on the 21 minute mark. The momentum was again with MON, who then scored again courtesy of a second effort from Kamara in the 29th minute to establish a 2-0 result. However, Chicago refused to lie down and managed to pull back a goal from Shaqiri on the 39 minute mark. However, MON increased their lead via a Brault-Guillard goal just before half-time to see out the first half 3-1.

Chicago took the lead in the second half, when Shaqiri found the net once more in the 58th minute so at full time it was 3-2 to MON.

Substitutions for MON included Miljevic, Wanyama, Quioto, Torres and Choiniere for Mihailovic, Piette, Kamara, Toye and Kwizera, respectively. Chicago brought on Javier Casas, Espinoza and Bezerra, to replace Bornstein, Andre Reynolds Ii and Sekulić.

There were bookings for Waterman, Camacho and Wanyama from MON, and Andre Reynolds Ii, Sekulić, Terán and Czichos, for Chicago.

MON will next travel to New England Revolution, while Chicago will face Charlotte FC at home.
