Minnesota 0-1 NYC: The Pigeons make it three in a row with victory over Minnesota

New York beat Minnesota United with a thumping 1-0 victory on Sunday at Allianz Field. Both Minnesota and NYC arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Minnesota were looking to pick up points, following a 2-1 victory against FC Dallas. NYC were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Chicago Fire and D.C. United. As the table looks today, Minnesota are in 8th place on the table and has 18 points while NYC sit in 1st with 26 points after 20 matches.

NYC started the first half well, with a goal from Callens at the 29 minute mark to see out the first half 0-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-0.

For Minnesota, Amarilla, Hunou and Danladi, came on for Hlongwane, Fragapane and Rosales. NYC replaced Amundsen, Gray, Andrade, Andres Jasson and Heber with Gloster, Moralez, Parks, Rodríguez and Talles Magno.

There were bookings for Dibassy, Trapp, Taylor and Rosales from Minnesota, and Andrade, for NYC.
