Minnesota 2-1 Austin: Home win for The Loons as they ease paste Los Verdes

Austin on away loss to Minnesota at Allianz Field on Sunday. After today’s result, Minnesota and Austin currently occupy 4th and 2nd spots in the table, with 41 points and 48 points respectively after 37 matches.

The first half of the match started well for Minnesota, when Reynoso found the net, 25 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Driussi equalised for Los Verdes just before halftime, which brought Josh Wolff’s squad level at 1-1 at the half time break

Minnesota rallied after this and were rewarded, when Fragapane gave The Loons the lead in the 62nd minute, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Minnesota included García, Trapp, Rosales and González for Fragapane, Amarilla, Reynoso and Hlongwane, repectively. Austin brought on Hoesen, Redes, Wolff, Kolmanic and Felipe Martins, to replace Maxi Urruti, Finlay, Pereira, Fagundez and Gallagher.

The referee booked Kolmanic for Austin.

Minnesota next face Houston Dynamo and Austin are at home to Los Angeles FC.
