Los Angeles 2-0 Red Bulls: Metro unable to avoid defeat in California

Los Angeles FC’s 2-0 win over Red Bulls on Sunday, was hard fought at Banc of California Stadium. As it stands, Los Angeles are in 1st place in the table and have 33 points while Red Bulls sit in 3rd with 26 points after 23 matches.

After an uneventful first half, The Black and Gold applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Arango gave Los Angeles the lead at the 68 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Palacios, at 70 minutes with a final score of 2-0.

Substitutions for Los Angeles included Arango, Kellyn Acosta, Danny Musovski, Hollingshead and Ginella for Opoku, Blessing, Rodríguez, Escobar and Cifuentes, repectively. Red Bulls replaced Fernandez, Amaya, Barlow and Edwards for Yearwood, Harper, Ryan and Ngoma.

There were bookings for Kellyn Acosta from Los Angeles. For Red Bulls, Dylan Nealis saw yellow.

Los Angeles next face FC Dallas and Red Bulls are at home to Atlanta United.
