Los Angeles FC 3-1 Houston: Leaders LA deliver a home win

Los Angeles FC strolled past Houston Dynamo with a 3-1 win on Monday at Banc of California Stadium. Los Angeles are now in 1st place on the table and have 64 points while Houston sit in 13th with 33 points after 45 matches.

Los Angeles started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Vela gave them the lead on the 8 minute mark. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Baird, at 25 minutes brought Houston level. Los Angeles in turn, then responded just before half-time increasing their lead with a 2nd effort from Vela to see out the first half 2-1.

The Black and Gold started the second half with an intensified spirit, thanks to a goal from Hollingshead, 52 minutes in, sealing a 3-1 victory for the home side.

Substitutions for Los Angeles included Bale, Opoku, Blessing, Tello and Murillo for Arango, Vela, Cifuentes, Bouanga and Segura, respectively. Houston replaced Baird, Quintero, Sebastián Ferreira, Vera and Picault for Quiñones, Memo Rodríguez, Úlfarsson, Cerén and Zeca.

The referee booked Dorsey for Houston.
