Houston 3-1 New England: Picault fires Dynamo to home win

Houston Dynamo banked all three points against the New England Revolution in a 3-1 victory on Wednesday, at BBVA Compass Stadium. Houston and Revs currently occupy 12th and 8th spots in the league, with 33 points and 38 points respectively after 43 matches.

Orange Crush started strongly in the first half, when Quintero gave them the lead on the 38 minute mark to see out the first half 1-0.

Revs took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Carles Gil, 62 minutes in. However, each side looked hungry to win and Houston then found the back of the net in the 76th minute thanks to Picault, taking the score to 2-1. Houston then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a second effort from Picault just before the final whistle to make it 3-1.

Substitutions for Houston included Memo Rodríguez, Úlfarsson, Quiñones and Junqua for Quintero, Sebastián Ferreira, Picault and Baird, respectively. Revs brought on Nacho Gil, Boateng, Jon Bell, Vrioni and Buck for Kaptoum, Maciel, Bye, Dejuan Jones and Boateng.

There were bookings for Picault and Cerén from Houston, and Farrell and Mcnamara, for Revs.
