Houston 2-1 Los Angeles: Dorsey with a winner as Orange Crush topple The Black and Gold

Los Angeles FC on away loss to Houston at BBVA Compass Stadium on Thursday. Houston and Los Angeles currently occupy 12th and 1st spots in the table, with 29 points and 57 points respectively after 40 matches.

Orange Crush started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Sebastián Ferreira gave them the lead on the 12 minute mark. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Arango equalised for Los Angeles in the 19th minute, concluding the first half 1-1.

Houston rallied after this and were rewarded, with a goal from Dorsey on the 75 minute mark. When the final whistle blew, the result was 2-1 to Houston.

Substitutions for Houston included Cerén, Quiñones and Avila for Memo Rodríguez, Baird and Sebastián Ferreira, respectively. Los Angeles brought on Bale, Palacios, Murillo, Bouanga and Ibeagha, to replace Vela, Escobar, Segura, Arango and Chiellini.

The referee booked Cerén from Houston and Cerén (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Los Angeles’ Ilie and Kellyn Acosta also received a yellow.

Houston will next travel to Seattle Sounders, while Los Angeles will face Real Salt Lake at home.
