D.C. 2-5 Cincinnati: Orange and Blue take points in big victory

D.C. were defeated at home by Cincinnati at Audi Field on Sunday. D.C. are currently 14th with 27 points from 47 matches, while Cin sit in 5th, with 49 points from 47.

Cin dominated the first half, when Acosta opened the rout after only 6 minutes. The momentum was again with Orange and Blue, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Brenner in the 8th minute to establish a 2-0 result. However, Black-and-Red refused to lie down and managed to pull back a goal from Morrison, 26 minutes in. However, Cin increased their lead following another Brenner goal, 37 minutes in to make it 4-1. However, D.C. then grabbed a goal from Fletcher just before half-time, concluding the first half 4-2.

Cin fought back, when Vázquez found the net after 53 minutes, leaving the final score at 5-2.

Substitutions for D.C. included Skundrich, Robertha, Kamara, Hopkins and Smith for Odoi-Atsem, Ku-Dipietro, Fletcher, Morrison and Akinmboni, respectively. Cin replaced Kubo, Ray Gaddis, Murphy, Matarrita and Badji with Moreno, Powell, Hagglund, Barreal and Vázquez.

There were bookings for Birnbaum from D.C., and Moreno and Barreal, for Cin.
