Columbus 1-1 Portland: Timbers knuckle down for a point in Ohio

Columbus were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by Portland on Sunday at MAPFRE Stadium. Columbus are now in 7th place, with 42 points from 45 matches, while Portland sit in 5th, with 46 points from 45.

The Crew started strongly in the first half, when Molino gave them the lead, 37 minutes in, finishing the first half 1-0.

The Timbers took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Moreno just before the final whistle. The final result, Columbus 1, Portland 1.

Substitutions for Columbus included Etienne, Yeboah, Sands and Artur for Díaz, Pedro Santos, Molino and Morris, respectively. Portland brought on Niezgoda, Loria, Mosquera, Paredes and Nathan, to replace Blanco, Mabiala, Chará, Williamson and Chará.

There were bookings for Moreira, Díaz and Cucho from Columbus, and Chará, Tuiloma, Mabiala and Moreno, for Portland.

Columbus next face Red Bulls while Portland are at home to Los Angeles FC.
