Chicago 2-0 Toronto FC: Fire breeze past Toronto to seal maximum points

On Thursday, Toronto FC suffer an away defeat to Chicago Fire at SeatGeek Stadium. After today’s result, Chicago are currently 12th with 20 points from 27 matches, while Phili sit in 13th, with 19 points from 27.

Chicago started the match well, with an early goal from Durán in the 4th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Durán made it 2-0, 16 minutes in, ending the first half 2-0. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Chicago included Herbers, Przybyłko, Torres and Ivanov for Gutierrez, Durán, Shaqiri and Mueller, repectively. Phili brought on Macnaughton, Akinola, Criscito, Shaffelburg and Marshall-Ruty, to replace Mavinga, Jesús Jiménez, Petrasso, Kaye and Thompson.

There were bookings for Mueller and Gutierrez from Chicago, and O’Neill, Macnaughton, Criscito and Nelson, for Phili.

Chicago will next play Seattle Sounders at home, with Phili facing Montréal away.
