Chicago 0-2 NYC: Visitors secure points with clean-sheet win at SeatGeek Stadium

New York eased past Chicago Fire in a 2-0 victory on Monday at SeatGeek Stadium. As it stands, Chicago are in 13th place in the table and have 30 points while NYC sit in 3rd with 45 points after 37 matches.

The first half of the match started favourably for NYC, when Gabriel Pereira found the net, 16 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Rodríguez just before halftime to see out the first half 2-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 2-0.

Substitutions for Chicago included Herbers, Durán, Gutierrez and Bezerra for Pineda, Przybyłko, Terán and Mueller, repectively. NYC brought on Gray, Heber and Andres Jasson, to replace Andrade, Talles Magno and Gabriel Pereira.

There were bookings for Czichos, Terán and Navarro from Chicago. For NYC, Rodríguez saw yellow.
