Chicago 1-0 D.C. United: Visitors can’t find an equaliser against the Fire

Chicago Fire beat D.C. United with a thumping 1-0 victory on Sunday at SeatGeek Stadium. After today’s result, both teams are on 14 points and sit in 13th and 14th places respectively after 21 matches.
After a goalless first half, Chicago piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Herbers found the net, 78 minutes in. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 1-0 to Chicago.
Substitutions for Chicago included Herbers, Espinoza, Terán and Pineda for Ivanov, Gutierrez, Omsberg and Giménez, repectively. D.C. brought on Alfaro, Robertha, Canouse, Smith and Estrada, to replace Najar, Kamara, Skundrich, Smith and Djeffal.
There were bookings for Navarro and Herbers from Chicago, and Pines and Najar, for D.C.
Chicago will play away against Houston Dynamo, while D.C. will face Nashville SC at home.
