Charlotte 0-1 Austin: Travelling fans rewarded as Los Verdes take narrow victory

Charlotte on Friday lost to Austin on a home defeat. Following today’s result, Charlotte are currently 11th with 20 points from 24 matches, while Austin sit in 2nd, with 31 points from 24.
Following a goalless first half, Los Verdes continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Pereira gave Austin the lead, 62 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-0.
Substitutions for Charlotte included Alcivar, Sergio Ruiz, Kerwin Vargas and Ríos for Ortiz, Bender, Jóźwiak and Afful, repectively. Austin brought on Kipp Keller, Djitte, Pereira, Redes and Finlay, to replace Romaña, Hoesen, Felipe Martins, Wolff and Driussi.
Austin and Charlotte will next play away to Colorado Rapids and Houston Dynamo respectively.
