Austin 2-2 Dallas: Austin fight back from two-goal deficit in Texas derby

On Sunday, Austin and Dallas were held to a 2-2 draw at Q2 Stadium. As the table looks today, Austin are in 3rd place, with 28 points from 23 matches, while Dallas sit in 4th, with 26 points from 23.

After a goalless first half, Dallas took the initiative in the second half, when Arriola gave Dallas the lead, 60 minutes in. The momentum was now with Dallas, who then scored again through a goal from Servania at the 68 minute mark to establish a 2-0. However, Austin weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Driussi at the 72 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Hoesen made it 2-2 just before the final whistle to make it 2-2.

Substitutions for Austin included Djitte, Nick Lima, Finlay, Kolmanic and Hoesen for Maxi Urruti, Jiménez, Felipe Martins, Gallagher and Wolff, repectively. Dallas brought on Servania, Obrián, Tafari, Jara and Twumasi, to replace Ntsabeleng, Velasco, Pomykal, Jesús Ferreira and Nanu.

There were bookings for Jiménez, Gabrielsen and Felipe Martins from Austin, and Martínez, for Dallas.

Next up, Austin are away to Charlotte FC, whilst Dallas will travel to face Los Angeles FC.
