Atlanta 2 – Seattle 1: The Sounders unable to avoid defeat at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Seattle Sounders on away loss to Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday. Following today’s result, Atlanta are in 10th place in the table and have 28 points while Seattle sit in 8th with 32 points after 33 matches.

Atlanta started the first half well, with a goal from Cisneros at the 24 minute mark to take them into the break 1-0 up.

Seattle took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Roldan at the 68 minute mark. In the end though, Atlanta just before the final whistle took the victory via a Gutman goal and saw the match end 2-1.

Substitutions for Atlanta included Moreno, Franco Ibarra, Gutman and Mosquera for Rossetto, Cisneros, Sosa and McFadden, repectively. Seattle brought on Leyva, Ruidíaz and Atencio, to replace Leo Chú, Bruin and Rusnák.

There were bookings for Purata from Atlanta, and Roldan and Lodeiro, for Seattle.
