Atlanta 1-2 Columbus: The Crew hold on for the win at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Columbus Crew snatched all three points from Atlanta United in a 2-1 victory on Sunday, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta wanted to improve their league standing after a 2-2 draw against Nashville SC. Columbus had lost their previous match against Los Angeles FC. Following today’s result, both teams are on 16 points and occupy 8th and 7th places respectively after 19 matches.
Columbus started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Mensah in the 2nd minute. The Crew then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Hurtado just before half-time, to take a 0-2 lead into half time.
Atlanta took the lead in the second half, thanks to Dwyer finding the net just before the final whistle. The game ended with a 2-1 win for Columbus.
For Atlanta, Ambrose, Campbell, Josef Martinez, Hyndman and Dwyer, came on for Hernández, Ambrose, Rossetto, Franco Ibarra and Cisneros. Columbus brought on Sands, Igbekeme, Williams and Miguel Berry, to replace Pedro Santos, Yeboah, Etienne and Hurtado.
