Wycombe 2-2 Port Vale: The Chairboys held to a draw by visiting The Valiants

On Tuesday, Wycombe and Port Vale played out a 2-2 draw at Adams Park. Wycombe were on the hunt for more points after a 1-1 draw against Morecambe FC. Port Vale were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Lincoln City in their last match. Wycombe are now in 12th place on the table and have 22 points while Port Vale sit in 10th with 23 points after 8 matches.

The Chairboys started the first half well, with an early goal from Anis Mehmeti in the 4th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as James Wilson equalised for Port Vale just before half-time, ending the first half 1-1.

Wycombe fought back the second half, when Lewis Wing found the net in the 61st minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Tom Conlon equalised for The Valiants, at 77 minutes, to level the score at 2-2.

Both teams used all available substitutes. Substitutions for Wycombe included Jack Grimmer, Garath McCleary and D’Mani Bughail-Mellor for Christian Forino, Sam Vokes and Lewis Wing, respectively, Port Vale brought on Daniel Butterworth, Ademipo Odubeko and David Worrall, to replace Samson Robinson, James Wilson and Gavin Massey.

There were bookings for David Wheeler and Lewis Wing from Wycombe. For Port Vale, Samson Robinson saw yellow.

Port Vale and Wycombe will next play away to Oxford United and Forest Green Rovers respectively.
